Shift workers and the tech campus
Since GlobalFoundries opened its plant at the Luther Forest Technology Campus, Malta has filled up with engineers, technicians and people working rotating or overnight shifts. That changes how cleaning works. A house where someone is asleep at 10 a.m. can't get the vacuum running through every room.
So we ask about your schedule up front. Some Malta clients want us on their days off. Others want us while they sleep, with the bedroom door closed and a list of rooms to skip. Either way works. Our recurring house cleaning runs weekly, every other week or monthly, and we can line visits up with a rotating schedule instead of the same weekday every time.
Malta keeps building
Malta has changed a lot in a short time. The Route 9 and Route 67 area around Malta Commons and Exit 12 has filled in with apartments, townhomes and new subdivisions, and building hasn't stopped. That means a steady flow of people moving in and moving out.
For anyone closing on a brand-new house, a post-construction cleaning before move-in clears the drywall dust out of cabinets, window tracks and vents. Builders do a rough clean, but fine dust settles for days afterward and you'll be wiping it off shelves for a month if nobody gets it out properly.
A lot of people land in Malta for a job on the campus, rent an apartment or townhome for a year or two while they learn the area, then buy a house. That's at least two moves in a short span, and each one is easier with a clean place on both ends. Moving in, we'll clean the new place before your boxes arrive. Moving out, we'll handle the old one so you can focus on the new one.
For renters leaving an apartment complex, a move-out cleaning covers what property managers check: the oven, the fridge, inside cabinets, bathroom grout and the floors along the walls.
The south end of Saratoga Lake
Do lake houses need a different kind of cleaning? Yes. Lake houses get sand, wet towels, sunscreen on the furniture and a lot of guests in a short season. They need an opening clean in late spring, regular turnovers through summer, and a closing clean in fall so nothing sits in a damp house all winter.
Malta's stretch of the lake sits close enough to Saratoga Springs that plenty of owners rent their houses out during the race meet, roughly mid-July to Labor Day. If that's you, see our Airbnb and vacation rental cleaning page for how turnovers work: fresh linens, bathrooms and kitchen reset, trash out, and a note if anything's broken or missing.
Round Lake's older cottages
Not all of Malta is new. The village of Round Lake, inside the town, began as a 19th-century camp-meeting ground and still has its old cottages packed close together on narrow streets. They're smaller than the newer houses out by the tech campus, but older houses have their own work: steep stairs, painted trim, porch floors, window sills that gather grit and dust in every corner.
We treat those the way we'd treat any older home: hand-dust the trim, take care on old floors, and don't scrub finishes that are already fragile.
